The Department of Governance, Political Science and Communication conducts basic and applied research activities, studies, development projects and other creative and innovative activities, in accordance with the Regulation and Institutional Development Strategy of UniBa.
This Department supports the integration of scientific research and teaching activity in cooperation with other relevant institutional units.
The scientific-research activity carried out in the Department, aims to support the development of the institution and the country, increase the quality of education as well as enable academic staff and students to gain skills for independent research, for a professional and sustainable developmentand academic career.

The Department of Law develops scientific research activity in the main fields of law, including public, private, criminal and international law. Its work addresses justice reform, rule of law, constitutional and administrative developments, human rights, gender equality, consumer protection, European Union law approximation and the protection of fundamental rights.
Through research activity, scientific publications, conference participation, proceedings and staff academic contributions, the department supports the development of legal scholarship, institutional strengthening and the connection between teaching, research and professional practice.

The Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Finance carries out a wide range of teaching and research activities in the general fields of economics. The scientific-research activity is one of the main missions of the Department, which aims to support all developments in the field of economics, evaluating as essential a knowledge-oriented economy. For this purpose, the academic and scientific activity of the Department focuses on a number of academic disciplines in the field of finance, accounting, economics, management and marketing to understand the phenomena, innovations and numerous issues in these fields. In general, the Department focuses on research in the field of research methodology and methods, financial markets, financial reporting, auditing, accounting, public finance, fiscal policy, investment, public administration, business management, etc. The heterogeneous composition of the department promotes multidisciplinary scientific research and bringsrequiredresults by market needs.
Applied Research and Innovation in the department as part and of the University as a whole, in close cooperation with the Institutes of Applied Research and Innovation, Centers and Laboratories, Programs, Projects or Real Enterprises, aims to create and be part of a national and regional ecosystem, integrated with the real world of Finance, Banking, Management, Marketing, etc. This research is embodied in concrete initiatives and elements of an innovative ecosystem such as incubators, startups, co-working spaces, forums, etc, new products and services generated by many actors such as academics and students of not only the university, businesses and civil society.
The department also develops consolidated research in economics, management, marketing, innovation and finance, with applied projects that support business and entrepreneurship development. Its academic staff contribute through publications, national and international conferences and doctoral research, strengthening the connection between research, teaching and professional practice.
