The Department of Governance, Political Science, and Communication covers important areas of governance, public policy, international relations, and communication. It blends harmoniously knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for success in both the national and international job markets. This department aims to produce specialists in the fields of central and local government, public administration, public policy formulation and management, diplomacy, international relations with a European focus, counter-terrorism, journalism, and media communication.

To better meet the needs of the country and the job market, the Department has been reorganized to ensure a better fulfillment of contemporary needs. It combines the fields of good governance at both the local and central levels with the professional management of public policy development and implementation. In the field of international relations and diplomacy, we aim to coordinate media communication in all areas with international communication and international security. In this way, the Department will become a convergence point between political science, communication, economics, justice, and security.

The Department aims to prepare highly skilled specialists in the above-mentioned fields, providing students and the job market with the opportunity to meet their needs. We aim to prepare:

  • Competent professionals and entrepreneurs in society
  • Well-prepared specialists in contemporary international relations and diplomacy
  • Communication and national security specialists

Firstly, we have an intersection of several fields that clearly intersect: politics, economics, diplomacy, and communication. For this reason, the Department will include as its members personalities from the fields of economics, communication, and diplomacy.

  • At the center of our activity will be students who seek to specialize both practically and theoretically in these fields, beyond the bachelor's level.
  • We will focus on developing not only master's programs at all three levels (professional, scientific, executive) but also on specific practical courses that will enable narrower practical specialization in the above-mentioned fields.

MAIN ACTIVITY DIRECTIONS

It is addressed to all individuals who want to complete their professional training in the field of public administration at both central and local levels, after completing a bachelor's degree.

It is aimed at elected officials in local councils and aspiring candidates who aim for a career in local government, with the aim of providing them with scientific and professional skills in asset management and public policy development.

It is addressed to individuals, after the bachelor's level, who aim to be theoretically and practically skilled in economics, especially in human, financial, macro, micro, etc.

It is addressed to all individuals who aim to improve their personal skills in the field of public policy development and implementation, by offering them a professional master's degree as well as short courses.

It is addressed to individuals who aim to increase their expertise in the field of public policy analysis and political decision-making.

It is addressed to individuals who have completed a bachelor's degree and aim to acquire theoretical and professional skills in the field of European studies and approach to the Albanian reality.

It is addressed at all individuals interested in the diverse field of contemporary diplomacy and geopolitics, through in-depth knowledge in the field of international relations.

It is aimed at individuals who aim to specialize, through short courses, in various fields of communication, media, social networks, etc.

It is addressed to individuals who have shown interest in the specific field of security and the global fight against terrorism, with the aim of expanding theoretical knowledge and professional skills.

Bachelor

The programs of the first cycle of Bachelor studies last 3 academic years, with a load of 180 credits. The integrated programs are 300 * or 360 * credits and the normal duration is 5 or 6 academic years.

Master of Science

The programs in the second cycle of Master of Science studies last 2 academic years with a load of 120 credits.

Professional Master

The programs in the second cycle of Professional Master studies last 1 or 2 academic years with a load of 60 or 120 credits.
